OC Public Works to Host Virtual “OC on the Move” Active Transportation Plan Workshops

New Biking and Walking Improvements to be Recommended for Unincorporated Orange County

OC Public Works (OCPW) plans to host a virtual “OC on the Move” Active Transportation Plan (ATP) workshop for the public on Wednesday, January 25, and Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 6 – 7 p.m. The presentation planned for both dates will reveal the transportation recommendations for pedestrian and bicyclist facility improvements in unincorporated areas and along flood control channels in the County of Orange.

In development since June 2020, the ATP is based on an assessment of existing needs and conditions as well as preferences and priorities received at a series of stakeholder and virtual community engagement workshops. Attendees of the workshop will learn about the final recommendations and next steps, including seeking adoption by the Board of Supervisors and an overview of the future project process (vetting, designing, and funding).

The goal of the ATP is to connect more people with jobs, goods, services, and public transit networks without the use of a car, thereby improving public health, and reducing environmental impacts from vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

  • Attendees must register in advance at ... (past event).
  • Requests for non-English interpreter service during this workshop can be made by calling (714) 667-9759 or emailing projectinfo@ocpw.ocgov.com by 5 p.m. on January 20, 2023.
  • Flyover video footage of a selection of recommended improvement locations is available by request.
