The OC Inspection Section of the OC Public Works consists of four separate functions, Administration and Contracts, Materials Laboratory, Subdivision and Permits, County Property Permits, and NPDES.

Administration and Contracts provide construction management services for County funded capital improvement projects including advertising for bids, awarding contracts to contractors, administrating public works contracts and providing inspection services.
Materials Laboratory provides geotechnical engineering, pavement analysis, and acceptance testing and quality assurance of construction materials for capital improvement projects, maintenance programs, and development activities for the County of Orange and other eligible agencies.
Subdivision and Permits provide inspection services for public works construction within County unincorporated areas and within County rights-of-way.
NPDES is the Construction's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System compliance Program.
