MIDWAY CITY--Midway City residents are invited to attend a community meeting hosted by Orange County Public Works (OC Public Works) on November 18, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.. The meeting will be held at Friends Community Church, 14762 Jackson Street, Midway City.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide current information and to answer any questions about the upcoming construction of the Midway City Street and Storm Drain Improvement Project that will commence in January 2011 and end in June 2012. This project will affect areas bound to the north by Hazard Avenue, to the south by Bolsa Avenue, to the east by Newland Street and to the west by Beach Boulevard.
By attending the meeting, Midway City residents will learn what to expect during construction. OC Public Works' staff will introduce the construction inspection team and discuss the planned construction schedule.
Upon completion, the project will alleviate flooding, reconstruct and lower the street pavement, and provide storm drain improvements within the affected neighborhoods. Other improvements will include the relocation and restoration of water and sewer lines, reconstruction of damaged sidewalks and driveway approaches, alleyway reconstruction work, tree replacement and grass restoration in the parkways.
In preparation for the County's project, the Southern California Gas Company will be conducting gas line relocations in Midway City. The Gas Company's work will be limited to smaller areas and should not take more than eight hours at each location. Residents may contact Tom Webb, OC Public Works Senior Construction Inspector, at 714-567-7875 if there are questions regarding this work.
Questions about the community meeting can be directed to Michelle Chan with OC Public Works at 714-834-2202.
