Planning Area 2.2 Grand Opening - Rancho Mission Viejo’s Grand Opening of the Esencia Model Home complexes in Planning Area 2, Subarea 2.2 is to be held on September 25, 2016. The open house is located east Antonio Parkway and immediately north of Cow Camp Road and will include nine neighborhood builders.
The Hilltop Club – The Hilltop Club, a recreational facility that includes two rec buildings featuring mission-style architecture, a pool, wading pool, built in barbeque fire pit, bike rack, and bocce ball court, located in Planning Area 2, Subarea 2.2, west of Esencia Drive and south of Airoso Street, was approved by the County on March 1, 2016 to allow for recreational opportunities to local residents.
Sendero Marketplace – Sendero Marketplace, a 98,000 square-foot neighborhood commercial center on 16.65 acres, including 79,400 square feet for general retail uses, 18,600 square feet of food/restaurant uses, 10,000 square feet of designated outdoor eating area, and a gas station, located within Planning Area 1, Subarea 1.4, northeast of the corner of Antonio Parkway and Ortega Highway, was approved by the County on June 25, 2015.
Reata Glen – Reata Glen, a 974,091 square-foot Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on 49.7 acres, including 791,288 square feet of residential uses consisting of 480 independent living units, ranging from studio apartments to single-story duplex homes, and 182,803 square feet of non-residential support facilities, including a 98,908 square-foot Health Care Center within 120 units of assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing care, a clubhouse, recreation/pool building, auditorium, croquet lawn, bocce ball courts, tennis courts, and walking paths, located within Planning Area 1, Subarea 1.2 at the northwest corner of Ortega Highway and Reata Road, was approved by the County August 27, 2015.
Planning Areas 3 and 4 Master Area Plans - A development program for PAs 3 and 4 of the Ranch Plan Planned Community, and Subarea Plans 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, and 4.1 to propose a more detailed development program for Planning Subareas 3.1 through 3.8 and 4.1, located north and southeast of Ortega Highway, east of Antonio Parkway and the planned community of Ladera Ranch, south of the planned community of Coto de Caza, and west of Caspers Regional Park, was approved by the County of February 25, 2015. These plans are the next level of entitlement in a series of steps that are identified for development of the Ranch Plan as a master planned community project. The Planning Area project sites total 3,313 acres, of which 2,416 acres will be dedicated to residential uses allowing 7,500 total dwelling units, 270 acres will be for non-residential uses (Urban Activity Center, Neighborhood Center, and Business Park uses), and the remaining 627 acres will be dedicated as permanent open space reserve.
