During weather events of high intensity or long duration and certain disaster situations the OC Public Works, Operations and Maintenance Storm Center may be activated. Under most circumstances we can only respond to situations or concerns involving County maintained roads or flood control channels.
During operational events to report problems with a County road or flood control channels call (714) 955-0200 or (714) 955-0333.
During non-storm conditions you may report a maintenance issue or concern with a County maintained road or flood control channel by submitting a service request or contact the Operations & Maintenance office at (714) 955-0200.
During the storm season from October 1st to April 30th each year private residents can obtain 50 free, empty sand bags for the protection of their home from rain and mud. Contractors or commercial entities are not permitted. Sand bags are available at 2301 N. Glassell St. Orange, Ca 92867.
Sandbags can also be purchased through home centers and other vendors.
If your property has been damaged in a State declared emergency, please visit the Office of Emergency Services (OES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) websites to determine if you are eligible for disaster assistance.
Please contact this number to set up an appointment if you are a canyon resident and in need of sandbags or rice bales to prevent erosion around your property. This service is for canyon residents only; anyone making an appointment will need to show proof of residency.
