Orange County Public Works

Welcome to OC Public Works! We are a County of Orange Department that includes the following core businesses: OC Engineering, OC Planning, and OC Facilities. OC Public Works serves the public through the following:

• Flood Control: Protect the public county-wide from the threat of floods by constructing, operating, and maintaining major flood control channels, dams, retarding basins, and pump stations.
  
  
• Highways: Provide the public with highways and streets by constructing, maintaining, and managing a quality road system in unincorporated areas and cities that contract with our department for services.
  
  
• Facilities: Provide the public and County agencies with support services that include County buildings, parking facilities, transportation/fleet management, and facilities operations.
  
  
• Planning: Protect public safety, the environment and the physical quality of life by providing planning, environmental analysis, zoning, grading and building services in unincorporated areas; developing and implementing water quality improvement strategies county-wide; enforcing agricultural, weed abatement and pesticide regulations; and implementing weights and measure regulatory programs county-wide. Provides for funding and planning of infrastructure projects within Planned Communities.
